02 Jun 2016 – Passing Thoughts

A new thought takes the place of old beliefs –
you feel them swelling, sliding into place,
and know for certain it will bring you grief
as it pursues its elder in this chase.

A blaring trumpet shouting out its song
puts you in mind of every speech you’ve heard.
Always the same, it matters not how long
you’ve cherished any sweetly singing turd.

So hunker down and pass another thought!
Squeeze twice and let that foolish notion go!
An endless well of bullshit’s all we are!
It’s not like any one of these is gold!
