12 Feb 2016 – Valentine’s Eve

Let me be the friend of your soft, supple skin.
There’s no need for caution, you know where I’ve been.
I’ll sing you and dance you and make you romance,
before the night’s over you might take a chance.

We’ve both had it rough, we’ve seen all of that stuff,
we’ve both tried to please and it’s never enough.
You’ll end up on meds if you go where you’re led.
But I’d gladly follow you straight home to bed.

It’s Valentine’s eve, dry your tears on my sleeve.
A candle, a wine glass, two hearts interleaved.
The skies – freezing blazes which dazzle the eyes,
let’s shelter in place in this space where we lie.
